Flux is a series of drawings in charcoal and conté (a drawing medium composed of compressed powdered graphite or charcoal mixed with a wax or clay base). These works were made by taping each sheet of 22”x30” paper to the studio wall in one long panoramic line with painters’ tape and working across all five surfaces together as though they were one.
The series is about movement and flow; presence and absence. The shapes, marks, and spaces of these drawings are not intended to represent any clearly identifiable subject but instead to suggest many simultaneously.
