The status quo needs to change in Canadian galleries.

Our national and provincial galleries need to show better leadership.
As Canadians, I believe that we have the collective responsibility to advance the current state of gender, race, sex, and cultural inequalities in our arts organizations. Please consider taking time over the coming week to write an email to your provincial galleries regarding this issue. The letters don’t have to be long, but we can take the opportunity to awakening our curators to the fact that so many of us are offended by the current status quo. Additionally, consider suggesting to curators names of the many talented, thought provoking, and underrepresented/under-celebrated Canadian artists who you would love to see exhibited and collected by these provincially and nationally funded galleries in the future. Please.
