Printing our quilt blocks at Connaught Street School

I am so privileged to be working with the students at Connaught Street School. This past week they created prints on cotton fabric which will eventually be sewn into a collaborative piece to be exhibited publically later in the spring.
Over my time with the students we have read lots of books, laughed lots and investigated; the colour wheel, what basic shapes are, various things which might be build/created when we repeat shapes, what constitutes a pattern in art, and various specific terms and techniques pertaining to the printmaking process. These children have been simply amazing. I’ve learned new things from them each time I’ve visited their school.
